Meet the teacher behind door 208! |
Hi! I'm Ms. Archer a new 7th and 8th grade English teacher this year at Hill.
I'm originally from Petersburg, VA and I attended Appomattox Regional Governor's School for the Arts and technology as a Literary Arts major. When I started I liked to write, but my the time I graduated I had fallen in love with words. I thought I wanted to be a writer, and I went to University of Maryland- College Park for Journalism. I quickly changed my major to English (after seeing some of the required courses: Econ, no thank you!) After taking a "Sociology in Schools" class, I started to develop a passion for the impact teaching can have. When I heard about VCU's Richmond Teacher Residency program where teacher-leaders earn a Masters degree in Secondary education while going through intensive training in a Richmond Public School, I was sold. Now I'm here and I'm so glad to work with the amazing Albert Hill community. In my spare time I enjoy "binge watching" shows on Netflix like Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares and Once Upon A Time, cooking with my fiancé, and playing with my two cats, Huey and Nova, If you need to reach me, email me at : [email protected] |
